This page is a recent addition and is dedicated to some of those residents who volunteered their time to help make Lake Spivey a fun and safe place to live and play.

South Bay - Michael Garrison and his wife, Mary, have one child, Leah, who is in middle school.  When not attending Leah’s athletic events or concerts, the Garrison family enjoys after-dinner sunset cruises and water activities on the lake.

Michael enjoys running and triathlons. He is a passionate college football fan and has attended national championships for more than a decade.  He has a few more colleges to visit before having to create some new goals for enjoying tailgating and ballgames with crazed fans across the country.

Michael provides leadership in the area of Sustainability and Brand Packaging at Chick-fil-A, Inc., a privately held quick-dining restaurant chain with 2013 revenues of over $5 billion.  After working as an intern with Chick-fil-A while attending Auburn, Michael joined the organization full-time in 1993 as an Information Technology Analyst.  Michael joined the Marketing department in June 2011 to head up Chick-fil-A’s Environmental Stewardship efforts.  He also has responsibility for Food Packaging.

An Atlanta native, Michael received his Bachelor’s of Science in Finance from Auburn University and an MBA at Georgia State University.  He has also completed executive programs at the University of Michigan and the Wharton School of Business.

Lake Safety - Mike Holmes As some of you know, Mike joins us from Canada, or as some of you call, the northern state. Born in Victoria, BC, Canada, Mike grew up in Vancouver, attending university and obtaining a Canadian Degree in Business Administration. While attending high school and university, Mike obtained his pilot's license the old fashioned way, non military, as Canada's 5 warplanes were being used for air shows. Upon receiving his green card (and recently citizenship) through his California born mother, he obtained a pilots job with one of the biggest regional airlines in the world, Mesa Air Group, who you may have flown on in United Express, US Air Express, America West Express, and Delta Connection livery. While at Mesa and completing his US Bachelor of Aviation Management Degree, Mike worked his way up the ranks at Mesa, progressing from First Officer to Check Captain, before slowing his flying duties and getting into flying a desk. These management duties included Simulator Instructor, Ground Instructor, and eventually, Chief Pilot (at which time he wooed a new hire first officer from Pittsburgh into marrying him). During his tenure as Chief Pilot, Mike was responsible for Orlando, New York JFK, and Atlanta crews and bases for the Delta Connection Brand. With the upcoming airline mergers, and state of the US airline industry, Mike and his wife drew straws on who would leave the US industry and go International. Mike lost. This left his wife in the US airline industry to stay "local" as a pilot for Airtran Airways. Mike is currently a pilot for Cathay Pacific Airways, a Hong Kong company, founding member of the OneWorld Alliance and one of the premier passenger airlines in the world. Based out of North America, Mike is qualified on the Airbus 340 and Boeing 777 passenger aircraft.

Atlanta's Best Secret: LAKE SPIVEY

Mike and his wife moved to Atlanta in May 2007, where they rented a house on seven oaks drive in the Lake Spivey golf club subdivision. After "hearing" jet skis constantly, and not wanting to deal with the drive from Lake Lanier to the airport, they set their sights on finding something on Lake Spivey. They originally purchased a home in the Spivey commons section of Forest Estates on the West Side of the lake, and after Mike's fathers retirement from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 2010(they all don't wear red uniforms and ride horses), he has recently loaned the house to them, and purchased a house in the Lost Valley subdivision. You have probably seen the "ugly" as Erica calls it, blue and orange Supra on the lake for the past 5 years, as Mike, his wife, and now 6 month old daughter Aviana are huge water sports fans, and love to hang out on the lake with friends.
