We just added a "Classified & Services" page to the website. Check it out here.
We finally got the Lake Spivey webcam positioned and online. It looks pretty cool.
We added South Bay LSCA representative Michael Garrison's bio to our Bio's page this morning.
Just building upon what we have already created.
We've added the beginnings of a map and directions page. It's always nice to know how to get somewhere before you hit the road.
We'll try to highlight website changes in this blog. So, without any further ado, here we go.
The new website contains much, if not all, of the content from the old website. The www.lakespivey.org domain and website will remain up and active until such time that the civic association decides to shut it down. The .org website is hosted through Association Voice. The website administrators have never been happy with editing the website through their template. The new website is hosted through Weebly. Content is added and changed through the Weebly template easily with drag-and-drop capability.
Eventually the .org domain will be pushed or redirected to the .us domain, or vice versa. The civic association also reserved the .info domain. The .com domain belongs to a reseller. We approached them to purchase the .com domain but it was far too expensive.
One important difference between the two hosting companies is the use of individual logins for members. Association Voice has this feature and Weebly does not. Association Voice also has various report features and Weebly does not. That being said, we found that the individual logins and reports are rarely used.
Long story short, we've got a new website with similar, but not identical features, and excellent editing capabilities. We hope you like it!
Another important difference is that the website through Weebly costs a fraction of the cost of Association Voice.
